About Robynne and Matthew
Robynne and Matthew’s approach to psychotherapy is truly “integrative”. As psychodynamically trained therapists, we help clients understand the conscious and unconscious influences on thoughts, feelings and behavior. We recognize that the body is the gateway to understanding emotions, and help clients tune in to their somatic experiences as a source of important information. We help clients identify the “root” of their symptoms, and utilize a variety of techniques to help clients heal from the inside out. Mindfulness Mediation and Depth Hypnosis are important tools we use to help clients learn to manage their internal states and to find an inner source of strength, and healing. We are pragmatic in our work, helping clients identify practical tools and solutions for dealing with the challenges that brought them into treatment.
Robynne and Matthew both have considerable experience working with young children, adolescents, adults, couples and families, and have worked in a wide variety of settings as therapists including elementary and high schools, community mental health agencies, hospitals and crisis units. We have extensive training in couples and family therapy, parenting, learning disabilities, and the treatment of anxiety, and depression.
Together we have presented on a number of topics including Mastery & Learning, The Importance of Play, Growing a Kindergarten Ready Brain, Managing Anxiety in the Classroom, Creating & Maintaining Positive Relationships with Your Children, and Managing Your Child’s Digital World.
Both Robynne and Matthew see adults in individual therapy and work with parents around parenting issues. We also both work with young children and teens. While we share many areas of specialization, we each have our own distinct areas of emphasis:

Matthew's practice is comprised equally of adults and children. Although he has expertise in a variety of areas, he has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. He has treated many adults, teens and young children struggling with OCD and other serious anxiety disorders, and is highly successful working with people struggling with these issues. In his work with young children Matthew specializes in play therapy as the primary mode of treatment and combines this approach with collateral parenting sessions. He also works with a large number of teen boys and young men struggling with addiction to marijuana. Furthermore, Matthew has a great deal of experience working with children on the autism spectrum as well as children with school refusal and oppositional defiant disorder.
